Employee Spotlight: Meet Jessica Moore

Employee Spotlight is a new Cohear blog series meant to share more about the amazing individuals on our team. Every month, we’ll share a quick Q&A with one of our team members so you can get to know us a little bit better.

This month, meet a new addition to our team: Jessica Moore! Jessica officially joined Cohear in mid-May but has been a Bridgebuilder for over a year, serving on the Duke Energy Community Insights Committee. Making connections and building community has always been a part of Jessica's story, so it’s no surprise that she’s now a part of our team as a Community Organizer.

Let’s learn more about Jessica!

Hi Jessica! So glad you’re on board with our team. Let’s start with the basics: how did you first learn about Cohear?

I heard about Cohear through Nikita [Cohear’s Lead Organizer], she had just started working there and was bursting at the seams with positivity and excitement about it. We hit it off and she asked me to become a Bridgebuilder.

You’ve been a great Cohear Bridgebuilder! What are you most looking forward to doing in your new role as a Community Organizer?

As a Bridgebuilder, I was able to see the value in the work Cohear was doing and was excited about the ability to make a real difference in decision making culture. I’m excited to have a meaningful impact on so many important topics. I’m passionate about so many things and Cohear enables me to work on all of them!

What are the three words you would use to describe Cohear?

Fun! Important. Revolutionary.

Let’s get to know you outside of work a little bit more! You are not a Cincinnati native, but you now call Cincinnati, especially Norwood, home! What do you love most about Cincinnati/Norwood?

I love my neighbors in Norwood, shout out to my DoGoobers! Cincinnati continues to amaze me with its parks, libraries and museums.

What’s the most unusual job you’ve ever had?

I spent more than a summer traveling the country working trade shows and music festivals with one of my best friends. We traveled from Albany, New York to Chicago to Kansas City all by van. Our booth was always right in front the main stage and stayed open all night. It was the most exciting and the most exhausting job I ever had.

Sounds like you love to travel. Do you have a favorite travel destination?

My husband and I love to travel and are always excited to go someplace new. My favorite recent trip was our honeymoon to Arizona. I fell in love with the variety of nature that spans the state. We rented a convertible to take the road from the Grand Canyon to Sedona. It was a magical drive that culminated with a romantic evening under the infinite stars.

That sounds amazing! How about your favorite line from a movie or TV show?

“I don’t have friends, I got family” - Dom Fast and Furious 7

Aw, I love that movie line! Anything else you want to add or share about yourself?

I wouldn’t be the woman I am today if it wasn’t for my husband Jon Moore. He and I have been building a life together since our third date. It's really incredible what we are able to do together that we were not able to accomplish on our own. I will brag on him and our wedding day for hours, so I’ll save some for later.

Thanks Jessica! We are so excited to have you on the team.
